Vietnam, South Africa enhance cooperation in training of leaders, managers
They agreed to further deepen collaboration between the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and the ANC’s OR Tambo School of Leadership in the areas of leader and manager training, political theory research, as well as academic and expert exchanges in public governance, public policy, and strategic-level capacity building.

Hanoi (VNA)🔯 - Vietnam and South Africa will bolster academic exchanges and share experiences in matters of mutual interest such as sustainable development, social equity, and integration policies through the joint organisation of conferences, workshops, and scientific seminars in both countries.
At a meeting on May 21 with Nomvula Mokonyane, First Deputy Secretary General of South Africa's African National Congress (ANC), Associate Prof. Dr. Duong Trung Y, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, said the visit was of significant importance, providing an opportunity to further strengthen and deepen the Academy’s cooperation with partners in South Africa.
Mokonyane stated that the visit to the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics was part of the ANC’s efforts to implement the resolution adopted at its 55th congress, which aims to promote the party’s foreign policy and strengthen traditional ties with partners.
The ANC places strong emphasis on cadre development, particularly in enhancing leadership capacity, she stressed. Accordingly, the party is heavily investing in political training and promoting collaboration between South African training institutions and their counterparts across the region and the world.
The host and guest acknowledged the substantive cooperation between the academy and South African partners, which has significantly contributed to the overall development of the bilateral relations.
They agreed to further deepen collaboration between the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and the ANC’s OR Tambo School of Leadership in the areas of leader and manager training, political theory research, as well as academic and expert exchanges in public governance, public policy, and strategic-level capacity building. The two sides agreed to promote the implementation of the outcomes of the phone talks between the CPV and ANC leaders, along with the MoU on cooperation between the two Parties inked during the South African side's visit.
Deputy Minister of National Defence Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien underscored that the Vietnam-South Africa defence cooperation has continued to develop positively, while co-chairing the third Vietnam – South Africa Defence Policy Dialogue took place in Hanoi on February 25.
Minister of National Defence General Phan Văn Giang on February 25 met with Acting Secretary for Defence of South Africa Thobekile Gamede as part of the latter's visit to Vietnam. Giang suggested the two sides reach a Memorandum of Understanding on defence cooperation.
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
