The figure was released at aworking session in Hanoi on November 23 attended by the NationalAssembly Standing Committee (NASC) and representatives of the Governmentand relevant ministries and sectors to review outcomes and shortcomingsof poverty reduction work.

The money was used toprovide vocational training and legal support, create jobs and improvethe quality of health care, education and housing for the poor anddisadvantaged across the country.

According to theMinistry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs, poverty reductionefforts have benefitted from the participation of the community and theentire political system, which, given the State’s support, has recordedoutstanding achievements in implementing prescribed programmes andpolicies.
