Vietnam spends nearly 2 billion USD on COVID-19 fight
Vietnam spent 45.6 trillion VND (nearly 2 billion USD) from its budget on pandemic prevention and control and supporting people who face difficulties due to COVID-19, as of October 15, according to the Ministry of Finance.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnamspent 45.6 trillion VND (nearly 2 billion USD) from its budget on pandemicprevention and control and supporting people who face difficulties due toCOVID-19, as of October 15, according to the Ministry of Finance.
Of the amount, 22.9trillion VND came from the central budget, which was used for procuring vaccines, funding pandemicprevention and control efforts as well as assisting vulnerable people to copewith the pandemic effects.
The remaining 22.7 trillion VND was sourced from the local budget for the work.
ജ As of October 15, thetotal budget revenue reached 83.2 percent of the estimate, with 79.3 percent from domestic revenues, up 5.9 percent year-on-year.Revenue from import-export hit 104.8 percent of the estimate while that from crudeoil surpassed estimate by 135.6 percent.
The total value of taxes, land rentalfee, fees and charges that were exempted, reduced or extended to support peopleand businesses in line with the Government’s Decree 52 wasabout 95.1 trillion VND.
Minister of Finance Ho DucPhoc said that despite difficulties in balancing the state budget due to the impactof the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government has implemented synchronously andflexibly monetary solutions to ensure that debts are paid in full and on time inaccordance with commitments and the assigned 2021 estimate.
꧋ He said the country has theability to secure capital for regular spending, investment, social security policy as well as defence and security tasks./.
The Vietnamese Government will spend an additional more than 7.65 trillion VND (320 million USD) on the purchase of 61 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines.
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) has proposed spending up to 89 trillion VND (3.91 billion USD) from the unemployment insurance fund to support labourers strongly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
