Vietnam targets final berth at AFF Futsal Championship

Vietnam has set a goal of entering the final of the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Futsal Championship and earning a ticket to the 2018 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Futsal Championship.

HCM City (VNA) – Vietnam has set a goal of entering the final of the ASEANFootball Federation (AFF) Futsal Championship and earning a ticket to the 2018Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Futsal Championship.

Theinformation was announced by Le Hoai Anh, Secretary General of the VietnamFootball Federation, at a press conference for the tournament held in Ho ChiMinh City on October 18.

The AFFFutsal Championship is scheduled to take place at Phu Tho Gymnasium in the Cityfrom October 26 to November 3.

Thechampionship will bring together nine teams from across Southeast Asia, withVietnam, Indonesia, Brunei, Myanmar and the Philippines in Group A, andThailand, Laos, Malaysia and Timor Leste in Group B.

Theparticipants will play in a round robin group stage to decide the top two teamsthat will progress into the semifinals.

Thetournament is jointly held by the VFF and the Voice of Vietnam and also servesas the qualifiers for the 2018 AFC Futsal Championship, with the four placesbeing granted to the four semifinalists.-VNA
