Hanoi (VNA) 🌄- Vietnam will be one of 11host countries for the group stage of the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2024 qualifiers, the Vietnam Football Federation said, citing a letter sent by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) on May 17.
Other host counties are China, the Republicof Korea (RoK), Bahrain, Thailand, Indonesia, Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia,Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Basedon their performance in the 2022 AFC U23 Asian Cup, the Vietnamese national U23team have been put in Pot 1 alongside Australia, Japan, the RoK, Saudi Arabia,Uzbekistan, Iraq, Turkmenistan, Jordan, and Thailand. TheAFC will conduct a draw for the qualifiers of the U23 Asian Cup 2024 on May 25.A total of 47 teams will compete in the qualification round from September 4 toSeptember 12. The Vietnam U17 women's team have officially qualified for the next qualification round of the 2024 AFC U17 Women's Asia Cup after a 3-0 victory over Uzbekistan in the final match.
The futsal team of Vietnam, led by head coach Giustozzi Diego Raul, will gather later this month for training in South America to prepare for the 2024 AFC Futsal Asian Cup qualifiers, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) said on May 8.
This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee. The outcome shows the trust and recognition that member states have given Vietnam for its efforts and achievements in carrying out and promoting the Convention, as well as for its active role, strong standing, and growing credibility at UNESCO.
