Vietnam was crowned champion at the Asia-Pacific Robot Contest-2015 after beating Hong Kong (China) 5-1 in the finale on August 23 in Indonesia.
This is the fifth time Vietnamese students have won the title since the contest was launched in 2002.
Themed “Robot badminton”, this year’s contest saw the participation of 19 teams. The Vietnamese team involves students from the Hung Yen University of Technology and Education.
In the qualifying round of Group C, Vietnam won victory over Japan and Kazakhstan and then surpassed Japan and the host in the quarterfinal and semi-final with impressive score of 5-1.

The Vietnamese Robocon team on August 22 gained the third prize at the Asia-Pacific robot contest 2009 in Japan, which is sponsored by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union.
Vietnam’s team came in second after being outclassed by their Chinese contenders in the final round of the Asian-Pacific Robo🍒t Contest (ABU Robocon) in Hong Kong on August 19.
As many as 160 teams from 33 universities, colleges and technical schools throughout the country are competing in qualifying rounds of the 2014 Robocon Vietnam to earn a berth in the Asia-Pacific Robocon Contest, which is scheduled for August in India.
Six teams - four from Duy Tan University and two others from the Ha Tinh Vocational College of Technology - will represent the central and Central Highlands regions to compete at the final round of the 2014 Robocon Vietnam Contest.
The final round of the 2015 Robocon Vietnam contest kicked off in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on May 12, drawing 32 teams from universities and junior colleges nationwide to compete.
