Vietnam wins high prizes at Seoul International Invention Fair

Vietnam claimed high prizes at the Seoul International Invention Fair 2017 (SIIF2017) held in the Republic of Korea (RoK) from November 30 to December 3.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam claimed highprizes at the Seoul International Invention Fair 2017 (SIIF 2017) held in theRepublic of Korea (RoK) from November 30 to December 3.

The event was jointly organised by the WorldIntellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) and the International Federation ofInvestors Associations (IFIA).

The work “automatic control and optimization ofenergy for crude oil distillation, Dung Quat oil refinery” by scientists DaoXuan Gioi, Nguyen Nhanh, Vuong Ngoc Trai, Phan Minh Thanh, Do Hong Quang, BuiTa Vu, Nguyen Manh Thinh and Nguyen Minh Canh won a gold medal presented by theorganising board and a special prize from the Malaysian Association of ResearchScientists (MARS).

Meanwhile, the work “designing equipment forflood prevention in Ho Chi Minh City and coastal delta provinces” by TruongDinh Du, Phung Van Ngoc and Ngo Sy Loc bagged a special prize presented by the IndonesianInvention and Innovation Promotion Association.

While participating in the fair, the Vietnamesedelegation had an exchange with Chairman of the Korea Invention PromotionAssociation (KIPA) Joon Seok Lee on enhancing cooperation with the Vietnam Fundfor Supporting Technological Creations (VIFOTEC) in the coming time.

They also worked with President of the IFIAAlireza Rastegar to call for its cooperation and support.

The SIIF2017 drew 632 inventions from over 30countries around the world such as the US, Russia, France, Germany, Japan,Croatia, Vietnam, Thailand and the Republic of Korea.-VNA

The PM revealed Vietnam’s plan to develop nuclear power in the near future, and called on the Swedish side to assist Vietnam in developing and refining legal and policy frameworks for the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes; training and developing human resources; ensuring nuclear safety; and conducting training and drills to improve incident management capabilities.
