Vietnamese Ambassador presents credentials in Uruguay

Buenos Aires (VNA) – Vietnamese Ambassador toArgentina and Uruguay Dang Xuan Dung presented his letter of credentials toUruguayan President Tabaré Vázquez in Uruguay’s capital city Montevideo onDecember 19.
Dung expressed his delight at undertaking the mission at atime when the two countries are looking forward to the 25th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties next year.
He said the Vietnamese embassy is actively working with Uruguay’sForeign Ministry and agencies concerned to make the best preparations for theanniversary, especially the first meeting of the Joint Committee on Economic,Trade and Investment Cooperation in Montevideo.
Vietnam and Uruguay established diplomatic ties on August11, 1993. Over the past more than two decades, bilateral ties have grownsolidly, evidenced by the outcomes of Vietnam visits by President Vázquez inNovember 2007 during his first tenure and Vice President Danilo Astori in November2012.
Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan and Deputy PrimeMinister Vu Van Ninh also visited the South American country in November 2012and December 2013, respectively.-VNA
