Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung met with his Belarusian counterpartAndrey Kobyakov in Kazakhstan on May 29 to discuss measures to furtherbolster bilateral partnership, on the sidelines of the signing of theFree Trade Agreement (FTA) between Vietnam and the Eurasia EconomicUnion.
At the meeting, both sides agreed to enhance theefficiency of the Inter-Governmental Committee on Economic-Trade andScience-Technology Cooperation, while creating favourable conditions forproducts of both countries to enter each other’s market.
The Belarusian PM stated that Belarus is willing to back Vietnamin exporting a number of products to the country, including farmproduce, seafood, garment and textiles, consumer products andelectronics.
The Vietnamese side affirmed that it is readyto discuss with Belarus the expansion of affiliation in themanufacturing of agricultural machinery and automobile.
Both leaders pledged to assist their enterprises in boosting partnershipand diversifying their cooperation through transferring technology,setting up more joint venture factories, and opening representativeoffices in each country’s territories.
PM Nguyen Tan Dungthanked Belarus for giving Vietnam a helping hand in the country’snational defence and construction, expressing his hope that bilateralcollaboration will further grow in all fields, especially economics,trade and investment.
He highlighted the significance ofthe signing of the FTA between Vietnam and the Eurasia EconomicUnion, saying that it is a breakthrough in the economic, trade andinvestment ties between the two sides.
PM Kobyakov said heis delight at the progress of bilateral ties, stressing that regularmeetings between the two sides as well as meetings on the margins ofinternational events are important for the growth of bilateralpartnership.
Regarding regional and international matters,both leaders voiced support of the maintenance of peace, stability andmaritime and aviation security and safety in the East Sea, as well asthe settlement of dispute through peaceful measures in accordance withinternational law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law ofthe Sea.-VNA
