The two provinces have worked together to boosttrade and tourism activities as well as facilitate investment activitiesby each other’s businesses.
Agriculture is a focus in theirpartnership, with Dong Thap enterprises encouraged to invest in theCambodian province in this field.
In 2012, Banteay Meanchey allowed some Dong Thap-based businesses to rent 80 ha of land for farming. During the flood season in 2013, Dong Thap provided more than 8tonnes of rice seed for the Cambodian province to help farmers thereovercome the consequences of flooding.
The two provincesalso held numerous cultural and artistic exchanges to increase mutualunderstanding and friendship of their people.-VNA
The programmes have brought about positive changes to rural infrastructure, comprehensively improved the material and spiritual lives of farmers, and contributed to Vietnam's economic restructuring, said PM Pham Minh Chinh.
