Vietnamese, Cambodian localities enhance mutual support

TayNinh (VNA) – The Border Guard High Command of the southwestern provinceof Tay Ninh on May 25 presented fuel serving border patrol to the policedepartment of Cambodia’s Tbong Khmum province as part of the bilateralcooperation to fight crime along the border.
ColonelLe Hong Vuong, head of the Border Guard High Command, said he hopes the fuelwill help the Cambodian side address their difficulties in ensuring fuel fortheir vehicles.
MajorGeneral San Sam Nang, a representative of the Tbong Khmum police department,thanked the Tay Ninh border guard force for such prompt assistance, saying the forcehas also given construction materials and financial support for the departmentto fulfill its mission and complete the building of its base.
Atthe event, both sides agreed on orientations and measures to deal with a numberof issues recently arisen along the border. They also put forth ways to boosttheir collaboration in the coming time.-VNA
Authorities in the southwestern border province of Tay Ninh have busted a drug trafficking ring who were transporting 12kg of methamphetamine from Cambodia into Vietnam.
Officials from some Cambodian provinces offered greetings to authorities and people of southern Tay Ninh province during a visit on January 29 ahead of Vietnam’s traditional Lunar New Year festival (Tet).
The Vietnam Youth Federation’s chapter of the southern province of Tay Ninh signed memoranda of understanding on cooperation with the youth federations of Cambodia’s Tboung Khmum and Svay Rieng provinces on March 15.

The programme on sustainable poverty reduction has achieved its annual targets for reducing the poverty rate as assigned by the National Assembly and the Government. It has fulfilled five specific objectives and five five-year goals, and met nine out of 12 indicators related to addressing basic social service shortages.
