Vietnamese, Chinese border guards meet in Dien Bien

Since April 25, A Pa Chai station has handedover 33 illegal immigrants to the Chinese side, received 13 Vietnamese citizensand discovered nine Vietnamese who illegally exited and entered the country via border areas under their management. Both sides discussed the pandemic situationand outlined several measures to better improve legal enforcement and preventillegal acts in border areas, and offer mutual support to ensure security andorder on important occasions.
The same day, border guards at Sen Thuong station in Dien Bien joined apatrol with counterparts at Qu Shui border department under China’s Jiang Chengborder management company.
They agreed to set up a patrol team in each side alongthe border and informed each other about the results of border management,political security as well as social safety and order.

The Investigation Security Agency under the Department of Public Security in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang has decided to prosecute five people who illegally brought nine Vietnamese citizens across the border into Vietnam. Four of them have tested positive for the coronavirus.
