Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam Television (VTV) and China Media Group (CMG) on April 14 announced their media cooperation and introduced key cooperation projects for the 2025-2026 period.

The event took place on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations and in response to the Vietnam-China Year of Humanistic Exchange.

In a congratulatory letter to the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh laid stress on the neighbourly friendship and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries, which have been unceasingly strengthened and developed, bringing tangible benefits to the people of both nations. The Vietnamese Party and Government always attach much importance to and clearly define the development of the ties with China as an objective requirement, a strategic choice, and a top priority in Vietnam’s foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, and multilateralisation and diversification of external relations.

Television holds a special position in spreading accurate information, promoting connections between the people of both countries, and introducing the distinctive cultural values of each nation in a spirit of respect and cooperation, he highlighted, stating VTV and CMG, as the main media agencies of the two Parties and States, have fulfilled this role excellently.

He wrote that he appreciates the close cooperation between the two broadcasters through joint television content production projects, documentaries, and cultural and artistic exchange programmes. These projects not only provide media value but also contribute to strengthening the foundation of friendly relations between the people of both countries.

PM Chinh expressed his hope that the two broadcasters will continue cooperation and maintain their position as official national information channels, promoting the friendship and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and building a Vietnam-China community with a shared future that carries strategic significance.

For years, the media cooperation between VTV and CMG has been recognised as an effective exchange channel, contributing to strengthening and deepening the traditional friendship between the two countries. Their notable projects include the production and broadcasting of documentaries such as "Vietnam today - China today" and "the appeal of Vietnam – the appeal of China” and mutual support in content exchange and television resource sharing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the spirit of long-term and effective cooperation, they agreed to implement a series of prominent media activities in 2025-2026. Notably, they will collaborate on producing programmes on technology development, AI, and urban infrastructure as well as those reflecting significant political, cultural, and social milestones of both countries. Through these efforts, audiences will gain vivid perspectives on the friendly cooperation and sustainable development process between the two countries. The programmes will be broadcast on national television channels and digital platforms, ensuring widespread popularisation to diverse segments of the population in both countries.

Documentaries, television dramas, and special reports on history, landmarks, people, and innovation will be prioritised in their exchange plan, helping promote mutual understanding while strengthening solidarity between the two long-standing cultures in Asia.

VTV and CMG will explore cooperation possibilities in new media areas, including content production and distribution on digital platforms. Additionally, sharing experience in operating digital ecosystems and digital content strategies will be emphasised.

🌸 Additionally, they will join hands to produce the “young reporters exchange” programme, providing an opportunity for young reporters to cultivate friendship, learn from each other, and work together toward a sustainable future./.
