Vietnamese, Chinese parties hold theoretical seminar

More than 200 Party officials, managers and researchers of Vietnam and China are attending the 5th theoretical seminar between the two nations’ Communist Parties.
More than 200 Party officials, managersand researchers of Vietnam and China are attending the 5th theoreticalseminar between the two nations’ Communist Parties which opened in theChinese province of Fujian on Dec. 12.

The seminarfocuses on theory and reality in coping with the global financialcrisis as well as experiences of Vietnam and China in this field.

The Vietnamese delegation is headed by To Huy Rua, Politburo member andHead of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC)’sInformation and Education, while the Chinese delegation is led by LiuYunshan, Politburo member and Head of the Communist Party of ChinaCentral Committee (CPCCC)’s Publicity Department.

Opening the event, both Hoang Binh Quan, CPVCC member and Head ofthe CPVCC’s Commission for External Relations, and Wang Jiarui, memberof the CPCCC and Head of the CPCCC’s International Liaison Department,said the annual seminar aimed to share experiences regardingtheoretical and practical issues of mutual concern.

The seminar was also designed to increase mutual understanding andtrust, step up the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnershipbetween the two Parties and States, and enrich the scientificsocialism’s theoretical treasure, they said.

Rua, who is also Secretary of the CPVCC and Head of the CPVCC’s TheoryCouncil, analysed the nature, causes, scope, levels and impacts of thecurrent global financial crisis.

The Party official also touched upon Vietnam ’s experiences andlessons, and emphasised the need to beef up cooperation in theoreticalresearch between the two countries.

In his speech, Liu presented the Chinese Party and government’sassessment as well as policies, solutions and results and experiencesaccumulated from weathering the crisis.

Liu, who is also a member of the CPCCC’s Secretariat, said seeking waysof effectively dealing with the crisis and fostering economic recoveryis seen as a common task of nations throughout the world and an urgentissue for both parties of China and Vietnam .

The seminar will last until Dec. 14./.
