Vietnamese confectionary giant attend FoodPro 2017 in Bangladesh

Hanoi (VNA) – Excellent taste and eye-catching packages have madeproducts of the Huu Nghi Confectionery Joint Stock Company come in favour ofvisitors at the International Exhibition & Conference on Food &Beverage Products, Processing, Packaging Machinery & Allied Technologies(FoodPro 2017).

The Huu Nghi company is among 250 enterprises from 16 countries attending theevent which ran from November 23-25 in Dhaka capital, Bangladesh.

The company brought along various kinds of cakes to the exhibition to introducemade-in-Vietnam products to international friends as well as grasp taste ofconsumers in Bangladesh. This is an important move that helps the confectionerto expand its export market to South Asia.

Visiting the company’s booth, Vietnamese Ambassador to Bangladesh Tran Van Khoalauded its participation in the FoodPro while stressing that the Bangladeshmarket poses huge potential and challenges for Vietnamese confectionaryproducts, thus Vietnamese businesses need to be plucky and make concertedefforts.

Chairman of the Bangladesh Agro-Processors’ Association (BAPA) AFM FakhrulIslam Munshi said that he was impressed by Vietnamese confectionary products andexpressed his hope that Vietnamese food companies will enhance investment andenlarge business in Bangladeshi market.

Attending the FoodPro 2017, the Huu Nghi company had chance to meet 100 foodcorporations from Bangladesh, opening opportunities for the company to boostexports to the South Asian country.

As part of efforts to support Vietnamese businesses to enter the Bangladeshimarket, the Vietnamese Embassy in Bangladesh and the Bangladesh-Vietnam Chamberof Commerce and Industry will organise Vietnam-Bangladesh trade fair next year.The event is expected to help Vietnamese businesses meet their trade partnersand nudge Vietnamese products closer to Bangladeshi consumers.-VNA
