Vietnamese cueists compete at world Billiards event

Six Vietnamese cueists are taking part in the Carom Billiards 3-Cushion World Cup which kicked off in La Baule, France on October 24.

Hanoi (VNA) ♊- Six Vietnamese cueists are taking part in the Carom Billiards 3-Cushion World Cup which kicked off in La Baule, France on October 24.

They are Tran Quyet Chien, Nguyen Quoc Nguyen, Ma Minh Cam, Ma Xuan Cuong, Ngo Dinh Nai and Duong Anh Vu.
The event will feature 150 players from countries across the world.
The tournament will be whittled down to 32 competitors by October 28, with the semi-finals and final scheduled for October 20. After this tournament, Vietnam will be represented in two more world events in Bordeaux, France on November 15-19 and Hughada, Egypt on December 11-17.-VNA

♑ Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee

This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee. The outcome shows the trust and recognition that member states have given Vietnam for its efforts and achievements in carrying out and promoting the Convention, as well as for its active role, strong standing, and growing credibility at UNESCO.
