Vietnamese-funded headquarters of Cambodian army inaugurated
The new headquarters of the High Command of the Royal Cambodian Army, funded by the Vietnamese Defence Ministry, was inaugurated in Phnom Penh on January 24.

Phnom Penh (VNA) – The new headquarters of the HighCommand of the Royal Cambodian Army, funded by the Vietnamese Defence Ministry,was inaugurated in Phnom Penh on January 24.
The inauguration ceremony took place on the occasion of the19th founding anniversary of the high command.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of theRoyal Cambodian Armed Forces and Commander of the Royal Cambodian Army MeasSophea said the headquarters and other buildings funded by the VietnameseDefence Ministry have contributed to upgrading Cambodia’s army infrastructure,thus safeguarding national sovereignty and maintaining political stability andsocial order.
Recounting the Vietnamese volunteer soldiers’ dedication tosaving Cambodians from the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime in the past, heaffirmed that the Cambodian army and people always highly value thelong-standing friendly neighborliness with Vietnam and will do their best tofoster bilateral ties.

Vietnamese Minister of National Defence General Ngo Xuan Lich held a meeting with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister General Tea Banh in Vientiane, Laos, on January 16.
