
The talk has the theme “Perfecting laws during the international integrationprocess” and is the first between the two parliaments facilitated by theircooperation agreement signed in 2008.
Opening the event,Ngan said Vietnam has reaped enormous achievements over the past 30 years ofrenewal and has been embarking on extensive and intensive international integration.
Building a legalsystem to speed up that integration process is extremely important, the Vietnamleader said, affirmed that the country will continue refining its law-makingprocess to meet higher requirements of the renovation and integration efforts.
Vietnam wants to share and learn experience in building and perfecting thelegal system from other countries, especially the countries having similardevelopment circumstances, she said.
She hailed Hungary for its successful transformation and integration as well asits rich experience in reforming laws to fit the new developmental period.
She stressed thatVietnam is having new opportunities for renewal and boosting cooperation withthe European Union, especially after the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement isratified.
Kovér László notedthat the relations between Vietnam and Hungary are growing, with frequent high-levelvisits made in recent years and Hungary regards Vietnam a strategic partner inSoutheast Asia.
He affirmed that the parliamentary cooperation is important to the affiliationbetween the two governments and the parliaments’ cooperation agreement signedin 2008 laid down a foundation for them to ratchet up their partnership, includingthe organisation of this talk.
Both host and guest showed their belief that at the function, legislators,ministry and locality officials, experts and managers share many valuableinformation and experience together with discussing issues of mutual concern ina straight manner.
They hoped that talks and discussions between the two parliaments will beorganized in the respective countries in the coming time to help the countries’nation-building course.
Deputy Speaker of the Hungary National Assembly Gulyas Gergely introduced participantsto legal regulations on his country’s law-making process and law issuance.
Under the co-chair of Gulyás Gergely and Chairman of the Vietnam NationalAssembly’s Committee for External Relation Nguyen Van Giau, legislators andofficials discussed a wide range of issues, including Hungary’s economicdevelopment policy and legal regulations promoting competitiveness, andVietnam’s tax policy and legal regulations on budget and budget management,labour, science and technology, among others.
Late on the day, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and herentourage left Budapest for the Czech Republic for an official visit to thecountry.-VNA
