Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam ended the SoutheastAsian Karate Federation Championships with 22 gold medals and was ranked secondbehind hosts Indonesia in the medal tally.
The Vietnamese athletes also pocketed 18 silvermedals and 30 bronze medals at the annual tournament which ended on May 5.
The sixth championships were held in held inSemarang, Central Java, Indonesia, from May 1 to May 5.
Nearly 200 athletes from eight countries tookpart in the tournament.

Vietnam returned home with two gold medals from the 15th Asian Karate Federation Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships 2016, which closed in Indonesia on November 27.
It is the first time that the country is to hold a G1-level tournament which is expected to lure more than 100 athletes of 15 countries and regions at Go Vap Gymnasium.

Eight teams will join the tournament, divided into two groups. Group A features Vietnam, the Philippines, Sichuan Club (China), and Australia, while Group B consists of Vietnam U21, Korabelka Club (Russia), Taiwan (China), and U21 Thailand.
