Vientiane (VNA) – A short-termcourse providing lessons on Vietnamese language for staff of the General Departmentof Politics under the Public Security Ministry of Laos opened in Vientiane onSeptember 20.
The opening ceremony of the course was attendedby Major General Alou Valyxu, head of the General Department of Politics and NguyenThanh Tung, Minister at Vietnamese Embassy in Laos, along with head of therepresentative office of Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security in Laos MajorGeneral Hoang Quang Huong, and staff of the General Department of Politics ofLaos.
Addressing the event, Major General Alou Valyxusaid it is the first-ever Vietnamese language class to be held in the GeneralDepartment of Politics, which aims to improve the foreign language skills ofits staff and members of its department’s youth union in order to raise thequality of their work.
The six-month Vietnamese language course is comprisedof 44 students, who will be taught by teachers and textbooks from Vietnam. –VNA
