The Nguyen Du Vietnamese-Lao Bilingual School in Vientiane, Laos,commenced the 2014 - 2015 school year with an official ceremony held onSeptember 5.
Addressing the ceremony, the school’s headteacher Truong Van The said this school year a total of 1,920 studentsenrol at the school, which teach in both Vietnamese and Lao languagesunder an agreement between the governments of the two countries.
The school, run by the Association of Vietnamese in Vientiane , willcontinue to nurture in its students the love for their homeland andrespect for the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos, headded.
Formerly the Viet Kieu (Overseas Vietnamese) Nguyen DuSchool, the school is re-named the Nguyen Du Bilingual School this year.It has classes from preschool to senior high education levels.-VNA
