Vietnamese, Lao Party commissions enhance cooperation

Vientiane (VNA) – A delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education on September 25 paid a courtesy visit to Khamphanh Pheuyavong, Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee and head of its Commission for Propaganda and Training.

Pheuyavong said the Vietnamese delegation’s visit from September 23-26 contributes to the development of the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States, and peoples, as well as cooperation between the two commissions.

The host extended his deep sympathies over the passing of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, and the severe human and property losses caused by Typhoon Yagi.

Delegation head Lai Xuan Mon, member of the Party Central Committee and deputy head of the Commission for Information and Education, affirmed that the Vietnamese Party, State, Government, and people always treasure and give the top priority to promoting the special relationship, considering this a strategic task in Vietnam’s foreign policy.

Earlier the same day, Mon held talks with Laopaoxiong Navongxay, member of the Lao Party Central Committee and deputy head of its Commission for Propaganda and Training.

They briefed each other on achievements in respective countries, and the implementation of tasks by the two commissions, and touched upon the political and ideological work and lessons.

On this occasion, Pheuyavong handed over the third-class Itsala (Freefom) Order of the Lao President to Mon.

Mon also presented the Independence Medal, second and third classes, and many friendship orders and medals to Lao officials.

The Vietnamese delegation presented 10 sets of computer to the Lao commission.
🍸 On September 23, they had a working session with Secretary of the Party Committee and Governor of Luang Prabang Khamkhan Chanthavisouk, and visited the Vietnamese Consulate General in the province./.
