Vietnamese Party leader visits Minsk Tractor Works
General Secretary Lam expressed his hope for active cooperation between MTZ and Vietnamese partners, making contributions to each country’s economic development.

Minsk (VNA) – General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam visited the Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ), the main tractor producer in Belarus, on May 12 afternoon (local time) as part of his state visit to the country.
The Vietnamese Party General Secretary was accompanied by Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin.
🥀 After being introduced to the factory and watching its signature products, the Party leader noted that many of MTZ's machinery models are well-suited to Vietnam's conditions and appropriate for use in small and medium-sized industrial establishments, saying the vehicles and machines can be utilised in agriculture, construction, and many other sectors. Vietnam can collaborate in manufacturing such components as engines and tires for export to various markets, he said.

General Secretary Lam expressed his hope for active cooperation between MTZ and Vietnamese partners, making contributions to each country’s economic development. The successful collaboration in this sector could become a symbol of Vietnam-Belarus relations, further strengthening the friendship between the two countries.

PM Turchin highly appreciated the significance of General Secretary Lam's state visit to Belarus, saying that the trip once again affirmed the trustful political relationship between the two countries and opened a new page in the history of bilateral cooperation with the two countries upgrading their relations to a Strategic Partnership.
The two leaders applauded the recent progress of economic, trade, and investment ties, agreeing on the necessity to further tap into the cooperation potential generated by the free trade agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), of which Belarus is a member.
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Long spoke highly of the dynamic, positive, and comprehensive development of Vietnam – Russia relations in recent years. He affirmed that the Vietnamese Party and State place great importance on further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia in a substantive and effective manner, in line with the development needs of both nations.
At the conference, participants reported that the Government has so far issued 28 decrees on the delegation of responsibilities and powers between the central Government and two-tier local administrations. Several localities have already piloted the new governance model.
