Vietnamese students win prizes at int’l Robothon competition
Vietnamese students claimed two first prizes, one second and two third prizes at the International Robothon Competition in Ho Chi Minh City on November 29.
HCM City (VNA) – Vietnamese students claimed two first prizes, one second and two third prizes at the International Robothon Competition in Ho Chi Minh City on November 29.
Themed EcoWatch, the international contest drew the participation of 366 students in 122 teams from primary and secondary schools in Vietnam , Malaysia , Indonesia and the Philippines .
Contestants had to perform various tasks, including time control, soli data collection, placement of seeds and sample experiments.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Vinh Hien said the competition is a useful playground, igniting students’ passion for science and technology.
🐻 Through practical programmes on robotics, students can apply the knowledge they learnt, and create new applications and innovations, he added.
The International Robothon Competition, organised by the DDT–Eduspec joint venture, is an annual event for kids between 6 and 13, creating a playground for them to apply information technologies and science in the spirit of creativity and teamwork.

The host team from Tran Cao Van Primary School and Hanoi's Viet Kids won the two first prizes in the National Robothon (Robot) Competition at Military Zone 5's Sport Centre in central Da Nang city on November 3.
As many as 62 teams throughout the country will compete at the second robot competition for primary school students – the 2014 Vietnam Robothon Contest scheduled for November 1 in Ho Chi Minh City.
The 2015 Hanoi Robothon Day for primary school students opened in Hanoi on November 7 with participation from 174 pupils from 11 schools’ 56 Robotics teams in Hanoi and the city’s Robotics Centre.
The programmes have brought about positive changes to rural infrastructure, comprehensively improved the material and spiritual lives of farmers, and contributed to Vietnam's economic restructuring, said PM Pham Minh Chinh.
The festival highlighted the contributions and robust development of Vietnam's revolutionary press over the past century while promoting press products and showcasing the creativity of Vietnamese journalists.
The programme on sustainable poverty reduction has achieved its annual targets for reducing the poverty rate as assigned by the National Assembly and the Government. It has fulfilled five specific objectives and five five-year goals, and met nine out of 12 indicators related to addressing basic social service shortages.

Today, the press for foreign service has evolved into a distinct, irreplaceable force, bridging Vietnam with the world and portraying a nation that is stable, peace-loving, and fully integrated into the international community.
At a review conference held on June 21, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh praised the province’s scientific, coordinated, and flexible approach. He noted that the early completion reflects the strong commitment of local authorities, the business community, philanthropists, and residents in improving housing conditions for disadvantaged groups.
