Washington D.C. (VNA) – The Centre for Strategic andInternational Studies (CSIS) recently held a dialogue on Vietnam – US relationswith Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Pham Quang Vinh and US Ambassador toVietnam Daniel Kritenbrink in Washington D.C.
The two ambassadors expressed their delight at great stridesin Vietnam – US strategic partnership over the past years, especially in thefields of economy-trade, education-training, post-war recovery,people-to-people exchange, national defence-security and regional issues ofshared concern.
It was evidenced by successful visits last year by VietnamesePrime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc in May and US President Donald Trump inNovember, they said.
They vowed to further boost bilateral ties, particularly inpriority fields mentioned in the Vietnam – US Joint Statement during high-levelvisits in 2017, as well as shared experience and recalled joint work over thepast three years.
Both sides answered questions regarding the US’s strategy onthe region, bilateral economic-trade, maritime security and safety cooperation,including the East Sea issue.-VNA
Vice President of the Vietnam-US Society (VUS) Bui The Giang received in Hanoi on March 14 a delegation of the US Fund for Reconciliation and Development led by its Director John Francis McAuliff.

The country is willing to participate in collective efforts to promote cooperation and mobilise resources to advance the current priority issues of developing countries, such as trade, investment, infrastructure connectivity, making the most of scientific and technological advances for development, and people-to-people exchanges, Hang said.
During the negotiations, the US highly evaluated Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts, affirmed its appreciation for the bilateral relationship, acknowledged Vietnam’s proposals and concerns, and considered these an important basis for continuing discussions and moving towards a final agreement.
The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
