Vietnam’s high-ranking military delegation visits Malaysia
A high-ranking delegation of the Vietnam People’s Army, led by Phan Van Giang, Chief of the VPA’s General Staff and Deputy Minister of National Defence, is paying an official visit to Malaysia.
Hanoi (VNA) – A high-rankingdelegation of the Vietnam People’s Army, led by Sen. Lieut. Gen Phan Van Giang,Chief of the VPA’s Defence Force and Deputy Minister of National Defence, ispaying an official visit to Malaysia from March 4-6.
The visit is being made at theinvitation of Chief of Malaysian Army Gen. Tan Sri Raja MohamedAffandi.
During the visit, the two sides willdiscuss international and regional issues of mutual concern and review thecooperation between the two armies in the recent past.
Theywill also deliberate measures to step up cooperation in the coming time,including the implementation of the outcomes of the official visit to Malaysiain 2016 by the Vietnamese Minister of National Defence, thus developing militarycooperation more effectively and practically on a par with the strategicpartnership between the two countries.-VNA
Vietnam and Malaysia recorded a two-way trade value of over 3.97 billion USD in the first five months of 2017, an increase of 27.9 percent year-on-year, according to the Vietnamese Trade Office in Malaysia.

Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien welcomed the proposals put forward by the US side and reiterated Vietnam’s request for consideration of key areas of interest, including reciprocal tariff policies and access for Vietnamese key export products to the US market.
