Vietnam’s NA signs cooperation agreement for first time with Uruguay parliament
National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, Speaker of the Senate and Vice President of Uruguay Beatriz Argimon, and Speaker of the House of Representatives of Uruguay Sebastian Andujar on April 27 (local time) signed a cooperation agreement between the two parliaments.
Hanoi (VNA) – National Assembly (NA) Chairman VuongDinh Hue, Speaker of the Senate and Vice President of Uruguay Beatriz Argimon,and Speaker of the House of Representatives of Uruguay Sebastian Andujar onApril 27 (local time) signed a cooperation agreement between the twoparliaments.
The signing at the office of the Uruguay parliament was heldwithin the framework of the official visit by Hue.
This is the first time the NA of Vietnam and the two ofUruguay signed a cooperation agreement, manifesting the importance they andpolitical parties in the Uruguay parliament attach to the strengthening ofrelations and cooperation with Vietnam.
Under the document, the sides will push up efforts aimed atstrengthening the relations of friendship and cooperation through informationexchange, consultation, training and delegation exchange. They also pledge toshare experiences in law building, and provide mutual assistance and support toeach other at international forums.
To reach the said goal, the NA of Vietnam and the Senate andthe Chamber of Uruguay will conduct the holding of and coordination in boostingthe exchange of delegations at various levels, and conduct visits to exchangeexperiences.
The three will also coordinate in organising conferencesmeetings to boost mutual understanding; supervise the implementation ofinternational bilateral and multilateral conventions and agreements to whichthe two countries are signatories and members; boost the exchange of ideas onregional and international issues of mutual concern; coordinate and consult atregional and international inter-parliament forums; support the cooperationbetween parliaments of Latin America and those of ASEAN members; and acceleratethe cooperation in a number of fields the two countries have potential in.
Within the framework of the official visit to Vietnam by theSpeaker of the Chamber of Representatives of Uruguay in 2015, the NA of Vietnamand the Chamber signed a cooperation agreement.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Dung and Uruguayan Deputy Minister of Foreign Relations Carolina Ache Batlle co-chaired the fourth Vietnam-Uruguay political consultation via videoconference on November 17 to discuss bilateral ties and issues of shared concern.
Trade ties between Vietnam and Uruguay have still not been commensurate with the potential of the two countries, delegates heard at the third meeting of the Vietnam - Uruguay Joint Committee for Economic, Trade and Investment Cooperation held online recently in Hanoi and Montevideo.

Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien welcomed the proposals put forward by the US side and reiterated Vietnam’s request for consideration of key areas of interest, including reciprocal tariff policies and access for Vietnamese key export products to the US market.
Deputy PM Le Thanh Long proposed countries promote shared values, including building trust, sincerity, and solidarity among nations and peoples; fostering cooperation spirit and responsible behaviour as well as upholding international law and the UN Charter; and placing people at the centre and as the goal, the key player, and the driving force of all policies.
The show, together with a grand parade to be held silmutaneously at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi, will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, the National Day, and the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA).
