Vietnam's university named in top 200 of THE Impact Rankings–Quality Education
The UK’s Times Higher Education (THE) has released their latest THE Impact Rankings, with Vietnam’s Ton Duc Thang University named in the world’s top 200 universities in terms of quality education.

Hanoi (VNA) - The UK’s Times Higher Education(THE) has released their latest THE Impact Rankings, with Vietnam’s Ton DucThang University named in the world’s top 200 universities in terms of qualityeducation.
Located in Ho Chi Minh City, the university is the sole Vietnamese representative to make the top 200 of THEImpact Rankings 2020 based on its achievements relating to theUnited Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The board of organisers in charge of devising the rankingscarefully calibrated a variety of factors in an attempt to provide both acomprehensive and balanced comparison across three broad areas, namelyresearch, outreach programmes, and stewardship.
The top 200 features an array of famous names such as theUniversity of Sydney, Monash University, and Macquarie University, all of whichare based in Australia, whilst the University of Oulu in Finland and the KyungHee University of the Republic of Korea also make their names into the list.
Another university of Vietnam – the Hanoi University ofScience and Technology - made it into the group ranked from 301st to 400th.
For this year’s THE University Impact Rankings, the list is 300 universities more than that of the 2019 edition, increasing the total number of establishments reviewed to 766 from 85countries and territories globally.
It assesses the universities based on 17 individual SDGs,including No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-Being, QualityEducation, Gender Equality, Clean Water and Sanitation./.
Ton Duc Thang University has become the only representative from Vietnam to be named among the top 10 excellent research universities in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), according to US Web of Science data.
Many universities in HCM City offer programmes in English to enable their students to communicate in that language when they work elsewhere in the ASEAN Economic Community, within which the bloc’s nationals can freely migrate.

At a review conference held on June 21, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh praised the province’s scientific, coordinated, and flexible approach.
