Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnamese top striker Le Cong Vinh has been named in theAFF Suzuki Cup 2016 team of the tournament by the website fourfourwo.com(Singapore version).
“Vietnam’sLe Cong Vinh will retire from international football after the Golden Stars’semi-final exit, but he will do so as their leading scorer in the tournament.The Vietnamese skipper surpassed Le Huynh Duc’s record of 14 AFF Suzuki Cupgoals, scoring two during the group stages to take him to an overall tally of15 goals,” the website wrote about Vinh.

Vietnam defeated Malaysia 1-0 to maintain its leading position in Group B with six points after two matches and secure a place in the semifinals of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2016.
Vietnam’s national football team face Cambodia in the last Group B match of the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup at Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar at 6.30pm on November 26 (Vietnam time).

The U23 competition will run from June 16 to 22, followed by the U17 event from June 23 to 28, while athletes competing in the U23 category will undergo weight and skill checks ahead of the matches starting June 18, while similar checks for U17 athletes will take place before June 23.
