Dong Thap (VNA) – The Vi♎etnam -Australia friendship mural village in Tinh Thoi commune, Cao Lanh city of theMekong Delta province of Dong Thap is ex🦋pected to draw more visitors to thelocality.

Vice Chairman of the Cao Lanh People’sCommittee Vo Phan Thanh Minh said the two-kilometre art project, which runsalong Tien River, was funded by the Australian Embassy in Vietnam. There are over 60 mural paintings drawn by30 artists from Australia and Ho Chi Minh City as well as students of Dong Thap-baseduniversities, with images of lotus flowers and tangerine gardens in Dong Thapand Australia’s symbols such as kangaroos and koala bears. The inauguration of the Vietnam-Australiafriendship mural village is scheduled for early January 2018. The village,along with Cao Lanh bridge connecting Mekong Delta’s central region, reflectsthe close relations between Vietnam and Australia. The bridge was built at a total cost of 3trillion VND (132.12 million USD), including 160 million AUD (124.83 million USD)of non-refundable aid from the Australian Government.-VNA
