VPI, PVOIL partner in research on electric-vehicle battery, charging station

The Vietnam Petroleum Institute (VPI) and the PetroVietnam Oil Corporation (PVOIL) have agreed to collaborate in the research on electric vehicle (EV)’s battery and charging station.

Hanoi (VNA)– The Vietnam Petroleum Institute (VPI) and the PetroVietnam Oil Corporation(PVOIL) have agreed to collaborate in the research on electric vehicle (EV)’s batteryand charging station.

Under the reachedagreement, VPI is to assess the impact of energy transition tendency onVietnam’s petroleum market, identify challenges and chances under the transitionand the development of battery and charging station in the world, region andVietnam.

It will afterward putforth recommendations for PVOIL’s stable and sustainable development againstthe backdrop of energy transition.

VPI will keep a closewatch on the market and regularly update information for PVOIL’s leaders tomake accurate decisions and prepare solutions, so as to cope with risks and makethe best of chances amid energy transition.

PVOIL began itsresearch on EV, the feasibility for EV to replace gasoline cars and possiblescenarios three years ago.

The corporation willcapitalise on its current infrastructure of over 600 petroleum stationsnationwide and apply technologies in the Fourth Industrial Revolution to devisenew solutions to EV development, said its President and CEO Cao Hoai Duong./.
