A welcome ceremony at the highest protocol for heads of state was held in Putrajaya city, Malaysia, at noon on November 21 for Party General Secretary To Lam and his spouse, who are on a three-day official visit to Malaysia at the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and his spouse.

Putrajaya (VNA) – A welcome ceremony at the highest protocol for heads of state was held in Putrajaya city at noon on November 21 for Party General Secretary To Lam and his spouse, who are on a three-day official visit to Malaysia at the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and his spouse.
Following the welcome ceremony, the Vietnamese Party General Secretary and the Malaysian Prime Minister had a retreat and held talks. They are expected to witness the exchange of cooperation documents and co-chair a press conference.
Vietnam and Malaysia established their diplomatic relations on March 30, 1973. The bilateral relationship has developed fruitfully on the basis of the strategic partnership set up in August 2015.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Malaysia Dinh Ngoc Linh said the Party leader's official visit, which comes ahead of the 10th anniversary of the bilateral strategic partnership next year, will help reinforce the foundation of the political relationship and provide new momentum to further promote strategic cooperation across all fields.
It will also mark a new milestone in deepening the already excellent cooperation between Vietnam and Malaysia, and paving the way for a new, higher level in their bilateral relations, Linh added./.
Prof. Dr Awang Azman Awang Pawi from the Kuala Lumpur-based University of Malaya has described economic cooperation as the main pillar of the relationship between Vietnam and Malaysia.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the relationship between Vietnam and Malaysia has been continuously strengthened and developed positively across all areas, especially since it was upgraded to a Strategic Partnership in August 2015.
The official visit to Malaysia from November 21-23 by Party General Secretary To Lam is expected to open up new opportunities for and mark a new milestone in the economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and Malaysia. Vietnam and Malaysia are key economic, trade, and investment partners. Their economic and trade ties have steadily grown since the two nations established diplomatic relations in 1973.
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Long spoke highly of the dynamic, positive, and comprehensive development of Vietnam – Russia relations in recent years. He affirmed that the Vietnamese Party and State place great importance on further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia in a substantive and effective manner, in line with the development needs of both nations.
At the conference, participants reported that the Government has so far issued 28 decrees on the delegation of responsibilities and powers between the central Government and two-tier local administrations. Several localities have already piloted the new governance model.

Under the official dispatch signed on June 20, ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, and chairpersons of provincial and municipal People’s Committees are requested to concentrate efforts on implementing core measures to ensure the smooth operations of the new administrative framework.
The Party chief underscored the need for the press to innovate relentlessly, evolve to keep pace with the country's development, transform into a truly professional, humanistic, and modern sector that serves the cause of the Party, the State, and the people on the path to national construction and development.
