– The 20th Eureka ScientificResearch Awards for Students honoured 100 winning projects of 2018 at aceremony held in Ho Chi Minh City on November 24.

At the event, there were 11 first, 11 second, 15 third, and63 consolidation prizes presented to the winners.

The awards were given in 12 fields, including pharmaceuticalchemistry technology, biotechnology and biomedical technology, intelligenttechnology, food technology, education, economy, engineering, agriculture,forestry and fishery, laws, planning, architecture and construction, naturalresources and environment, and social affairs and humanities.

This year, the annual event attracted 903 projects submittedby 2,263 students from 106 universities and colleges across 24 provinces andcities nationwide.

The competition has been organised since 1999 by the Ho ChiMinh Communist Youth Union of HCM City to encourage scientific research amongstudents.

After 20 years, it has seen the participation of more than20,000 students with nearly 10,000 entries.-VNA
