Winners of international photo contest on Hanoi awarded

The Hanoi People’s Committee on October 10 held an award presentation ceremony for winners of an international photo contest themed “Proud of Hanoi” on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the liberation of the capital.

Hanoi (VNA) –
The Hanoi People’sCommittee on October 10 held an award presentation ceremony for winners of aninternational photo contest themed “Proud of Hanoi” on the occasion of the 65thanniversary of the liberation of the capital.

After nine months of launching, the organisationboard received 2,659 entries by 430 professional and amateur photographers fromVietnam, India, Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, Spain, the Philippines, andJapan.

Sixteen best photos won prizes at the event,including 15 taken by Vietnamese photographers and one by a Singaporean. 

There were one first prize, two second and threethird prizes, along with 10 consolation prizes.

This is the first international art photocontest held by Hanoi to promote the city’s history, culture and people.

The event also aims to honour Hanoi as a capitalcity with thousand-year-old culture and a city for peace.

As many as 106 best photos from the contest arebeing put on show at 45 Trang Tien street in Hanoi from October 10 to 14./.

🃏 Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee

This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee.
