– The central city of Da Nang onOctober 10 started construction on the first phase of the Software Park No 2,worth more than 703 billion VND (30.4 million USD), at Hai Chau district.

The move forms part of the city’s effort to realise its goal of developing a smart city by 2030 and becoming a smart metropolis, acentre for startups and innovation and a livable coastal city by 2045, as set in the Politburo's resolution 43-NQ/TW.

In his remarks at the ground-breaking ceremony, ViceChairman of the municipal People’s Committee Ho Ky Minh said the Da NangSoftware Park No 2 plays a vital part in developing the local informationtechnology (IT) industry, improve business climate and create a new engine forthe city’s socio-economic development.

The 28.6-ha project is scheduled to complete after 690 days.Once operational, it is expected to accommodate about 6,000 workers in the IT anddigital technology sectors.

The park will house a 20-storey ICT office building with totalinternal floor area of more than 26,000 sqm and two 8-storey ICT office blockswith combined internal floor area of nearly 66,500 sqm./.
