Workshop inspires creativity among Vietnamese young scientists in RoK

Seoul (VNA) - The Vietnamese Students' Association in the Republic of Korea (VSAK) organised the 10th Annual Conference of Vietnamese Young Scientists (ACVYS) on September 8 in Seoul.

The event saw the participation of nearly 500 participants, including Vietnamese and international students and researchers studying in the RoK, scholars and scientists, and representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy in the Asian country.

Under the motto “Connecting knowledge, igniting passion”, the conference offered a venue for scientists to discuss and share knowledge, help young ones connect, share information, resources, and research experiences in related areas, and foster interdisciplinary and cross-field research collaboration.

The event focused on topics covering areas such as information technology and computing; material, energy and environment technology; biotechnology; mechanical engineering; social sciences and humanities & management and economics; and semiconductor technology.

As many as 100 nominations had been sent to the organising board for an award reserved for Vietnamese young scientists in the RoK, and five were honoured for their remarkable performance in information technology, digital transformation and automation; new material technology; biotechnology; environmental technology; and medical technology.

Ambassador Vu Ho said he hopes the conference will draw more scientists, not only from the RoK but also from the Northeast Asia region.

Bach Thi Phuong Anh, Vice President of the VSAK, said the conference features innovations in organisation, as well as improvements in the quality, quantity, and types of reports, promising to provide the scientific research community with exceptional experiences and high-quality scientific work with practical value.

In the framework of the event, the VSAK hosted a seminar to provide Vietnamese students in the RoK with a clear perspective on making decisions about their future career.

𒈔 This offered an opportunity for Vietnamese students in the RoK to gain an objective view of the golden period of cooperation between the two countries and to learn about job opportunities at Korean companies and businesses./.
