Jakarta (VNA) - The Indonesian island of Bali has been livelier over the past nearly 10 days with the presence of over 50,000 people from around the world participating in the ongoing World Water Forum.

The triennial forum features nearly 200 meetings and side events, with a plethora of cultural events organised to provide delegates with interesting experiences about Bali and Indonesia.

Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Uno Sandiaga said hosting the forum's 10th edition is an opportunity to strengthen the country's position as a world-class destination, especially in the MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) tourism sector.

The official attributed a significant increase in the number of international tourists to Indonesia in the early months of this year to local policies encouraging investment and tourism and the enhanced reputation of Indonesian tourism.

Indonesia always f♍ocuses on organising international event🍎s and utilises them as valuable opportunities to promote tourism, said the minister./.
