Hanoi (VNA)🅰 – Still a fourth-year student at the National University of Civil Engineering (NUCE), Pham Thi Thuy Linh at the Faculty of Economics and Construction Management has been recognised as an outstanding Party member for several consecutive years.

She was also trusted with the task of recruiting new Party members among students. Linh confided that during her first year in university, she did not participate in many Party activities. However, it was the dynamic environment of the students’ Party cell at the NUCE that helped her gradually change herself, becoming more confident. “Studying in an environment where everyone is enthusiastic about party affairs, I feel a sense of responsibility, a need to be more proactive in taking part in its activities and thus be entrusted with more tasks. “I have tried my best to fulfil the assigned work and since then I have grown more mature and able to contribute more to the Party,” Linh said. Assigned with the task of recruiting new Party members among students, Linh has tried a lot to do the job well. From a shy student, now Linh proactively approached peer students, listened to their thoughts and aspirations, and talked to them about the significance of becoming a Party member. She also enthusiastically participated in Youth Union and Student Union activities held by the university and other faculties, thereby discovering potential candidates to introduce to the university’s Party Committee. “We will gather students with good academic records and those who actively join social activities, to orient them towards striving to join the party,” Linh said. To help students have a better understanding of the students’ party cell, she wrote news and took photos of its activities and posted them on the university portal. Linh's party development team also actively sought information about training classes organised for people who wish to join the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), in order to inform peer students about them. “We are very happy that each class attracting hundreds of students. The number of students actually admitted to the party may not be much, but those classes have helped consolidate the political ideology of the students and their desire to stand in the ranks of the Party. “They will be stimulated to strive harder in studying and fostering themselves, thereby, the Party will have more excellent party members and masses," she said. Besides her study work and her tasks in the Party and the university’s Youth Union, Linh is also the only student selected to be a member of the university council, representing the voice of thousands of students. “This is an honour but also a huge responsibility. I will have to make a lot of efforts to deserve the trust of the university, the university’s Party organisation and the students,” she said. Linh shared that with numerous duties and roles, of course she felt tired sometimes. At such time, she would drop everything to take a rest for a few hours or half a day before returning to work. “People often tell me that they don't understand how I can find time to do all these tasks,” Linh said, adding the important thing is to arrange a suitable timetable and identify the right priority for each period of time. With her efforts and contributions, Linh has been evaluated as an outstanding Party member in the past two years. She has also been awarded a certificate of merit from the Minister of Education and Training for her achievements in the movement of studying and following President Ho Chi Minh's thought and morality. The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Hanoi has conferred a certificate of merit to Linh in recognition of her contributions to youth activities./.
