Binh Phuoc (VNA) – Delegates from Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam (CLV) have come together atthe 7th CLV youth forum, which opened in the southern provinceof Binh Phuoc on December 17.
In his opening speech, Secretary of the Ho ChiMinh Communist Youth Union CentralCommittee Nguyen Anh Tuan highlighted the significance of the event, sayingthat it contributes to implementing the joint statement of the three nations’ PrimeMinisters at the 9th CLV Summit in Siem Reap, Cambodia, last year.
With their role as the vanguard force of each country, young people need to beaware of their responsibility and actively participate in the socio-economicdevelopment in the CLV area, he said.
As part of the 11th Meeting of theJoint Coordination Committee of the CLV Development Triangle Area, the forum aims to discuss issues of common concern of thethree countries’ youths, thus devising practical measures to realise theirGovernments’ commitments of regional cooperation, he added.
Seminars within the forum will focus on measures to promote the role played by regionalyouths in economic development; and how to enhance connection among youngentrepreneurs, the involvement of young people in new rural development and voluntaryactivities.
Representatives from Laosand Cambodia said the even helps tighten relations among youth forces of thethree nations, and provides a venue for young businesspeople to share their experience in start-up activities, contributingto fostering trade and tourism ties among the three nations.-VNA
