- A delegation of the Party Central Committee, the State President, the National Assembly (NA), the Government, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee laid wreaths at President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum to pay tribute to the late leader on the occasion of the 79th National Day (September 2, 1945-2024) in Hanoi on August 30.

The delegates included Party General Secretary and State President To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man, and President of the VFF Central Committee Do Van Chien. Read full story
– The Politburo and the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee held a meeting in Hanoi on August 30 under the chair of Party General Secretary and State President To Lam to discuss some important documents.

The event focused on the draft political report to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress, the draft review report on some theoretical and practical issues of the socialist-oriented Doi moi (Renewal) process over the last 40 years in Vietnam, and some other issues expected to be considered at the 10th session of the 13th-tenure Party Central Committee. – Conglomerate Vingroup broke ground on the National Exhibition Centre in the outlying district of Dong Anh, Hanoi on August 30 in the presence of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

The 90-hectare facility will be among the top 10 largest exhibition centres in the world, and is expected to become a "new wonder" of the capital city that will kick-start the vibrant “Expo” economy. The project, a key national one in the trade and service sector, is developed as a replacement for the exhibition centre in downtown Giang Vo district. Read full story
- A high-level delegation from Vietnam, consisting of 23 members from ministries, sectors, and localities, led by Assoc. Prof., Dr. Hoang Phuc Lam, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA), is participating in a research exchange programme on sharing leadership and governance experiences in Australia from August 26 to September 1.
The course, part of a training programme for Vietnam’s strategic and key officials, is organised by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) in collaboration with the HCMA and comes under the Vietnam-Australia Centre project. Read full story
– A thematic exhibition on the late President Ho Chi Minh as portrayed by Vietnam’s revolutionary press opened at the Ho Chi Minh Museum in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue on August 30.
With nearly 130 photos, documents and objects, the exhibition aims to help promote the study and following of President Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style among cadres, soldiers and people of all walks of life, especially young people, in the current period. Read full story
– The Pacific Partnership & Pacific Angel Programme in 2024 (PP & PA-24) wrapped up its two-week mission to strengthen disaster response preparedness and international cooperation in the central province of Quang Ngai on August 30.
The programme brought together approximately 200 participants, including personnel from navies and air forces, as well as experts from Australia, Chile, Japan, the UK, and the US. It focused on the four main activities of construction, health care, community exchange, and disaster relief. Read full story
– The Management Board of Industrial Parks in the northern province of Ha Nam on August 30 held a meeting with Japanese enterprises that are investing in industrial parks in the province.
At the meeting, representatives of the enterprises mentioned their difficulties and made recommendations relating to issues, including land use in the IPs, environmental protection, the province’s investment attraction policy, high quality human resources, social housing projects, infrastructure projects, electricity supply and security in the IPs./.
