- Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son attended the World Governments Summit 2025 that kicked off in Dubai, the UAE, on February 11.

Under the theme “Shaping Future Governments,” the summit aims to address the challenges and future of global governance, while strengthening international cooperation in creative solutions that will empower future governments. Read full story

- Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son had a telephone talks with Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono on February 10, during which the two sides discussed measures to further bolster ties between the two countries.

Sugiono extended Lunar New Year greetings to leaders and people of Vietnam, expressing his wish that the bilateral relations will continue to grow and reach new heights in 2025. Read full story

- Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, head of Vietnam's permanent mission to the United Nations (UN), on February 10 attended the annual session of the UN Women Executive Board as a newly elected member for the 2025-2027 term.

This first session of 2025 focused on enhancing operational efficiency and shaping the 2026-2029 strategic plan. Delegates acknowledged progress in gender equality but highlighted ongoing challenges, including conflicts, humanitarian crises, violence, discrimination, climate change impacts, social injustice and resource constraints. - The Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba and Nicaragua said on February 10 that it has been taking citizen protection measures for three Vietnamese survivors of a boat sinking in Nicaragua according to guidelines from the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The three Vietnamese citizens are Truong Thi My Khanh, 24 (female); and two men: Ho Long, 25, and Nguyen Van Duoc, 26. They have been provided with medical care and food from the Nicaraguan authorities. Read full story

- Ship 09 of the Naval Region 2’s Brigade 171 has recently set sail from Ba Ria- Vung Tau province to participate in the fifth Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo 2025 (MNEK-25) in Indonesia, according to the Quan doi Nhan dan (People's Army) newspaper.

The exercise, organised by the Indonesian Navy, has been held biennially since 2014. Read full story
