- Party General Secretary and State President To Lam visited the Vietnamese Embassy and met with representatives of the Vietnamese community in Mongolia on October 1, as part of his state visit to the country.

Lam stated that his trip is of important significance, as it takes place in the context that the bilateral relationship is at its best, mutual understanding and trust between the two countries' people are deepening, and cooperation in various fields such as politics, defence, security, economy, and tourism is expanding, achieving tangible results in recent times. - Party General Secretary and State President To Lam on October 1 visited Inter-Level School No.14 named after President Ho Chi Minh in the Mongolian capital city of Ulaanbaatar, as part of his ongoing state visit to Mongolia.

- The upcoming state visit to Ireland by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and State President To Lam, his spouse and a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam is expected to open a new door for the two countries’ trade cooperation, according to insiders.

Vietnam and Ireland have obtained various achievements in their cooperation and friendship since they set up their diplomatic ties 28 years ago. Trade collaboration has been a key pillar in the bilateral relations on the basis of the effective implementation of the EU – Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA). Read full story

- Innovation has been considered an irreversible trend and an important factor that helps accelerate digital transformation, green transition and sustainable development in Vietnam in the new era, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said on October 1.

Attending the opening ceremony of the Innovate Vietnam 2024 event at the National Innovation Centre (NIC)’s headquarters in Hoa Lac High-tech Park in Hanoi’s outlying district of Thach That, PM Chinh stressed that innovation has demonstrated its important role and essential driving force for the development of science and technology in particular and the national development strategies as a whole. - Since its establishment in October 2019, the National Innovation Centre (NIC) has become the core of the country’s innovation ecosystem and a bridge between the State, enterprises, training institutes, research centres, financial institutions and incubation support units to lead, build and develop Vietnam's innovation, said Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung.

- Vietnam's fruit and vegetable exports are projected to see continued strong growth in the remaining months of the year, helping the sector to achieve its goal of 7 billion USD in export revenue.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), the sector estimated to earn 4.63 billion USD in export turnover between January and August, marking a year-on-year increase of over 30%. Read full story

- Vietnam has so far attracted 3,500 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects in the garment - textile industry with a combined value of 37 billion USD, according to the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS).

- National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, the Vietnam Air Services Company (VASCO) and the People’s Committee of Con Dao district in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau on September 30 launched the “Bay nhe toi Con Dao” (flying lightly to Con Dao) campaign, with an aim of reducing carbon emissions.

The campaign is also to increase programmes to collect, treat and recycle all types of waste with a goal of treating 85% of generated plastic waste by 2025, while promoting sustainable aviation and tourism and shifting the economy towards a circular direction in Con Dao. Read full story./.
