Havana (VNA)♏ – China’s national flag carrier Air China launched a new air route connecting Beijing to Cuba’s capital city of Havana on December 27.
With a stopover in Montreal, the airline operates three flights with each lasting 19 hours and 30 minutes.
Statistics showed that Chinese arrivals to Cuba hit 22,115 in 2014, an annual increase of 27.5 percent. In 2003, Cuba was the first Latin American country to be declared as a destination for Chinese tourists.
The new route is expected to turn Havana into a gateway to countries located in the Caribbean.-VNA
