PhnomPenh (VNA) – A Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Monument was inauguratedin the Cambodian province of Kampong Cham on January 28.
Thisis the 17th out of 22 friendship monuments to be upgraded and built acrossCambodia.
Theinauguration ceremony saw the attendance of Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister MenSam An, Standing Vice Chairman andGeneral Secretary of the National Council of the Solidarity Front for theDevelopment of Cambodian Motherland Nhem Valy, andVietnamese Military Attaché in Cambodia Colonel Nguyen Thanh Chinh, amongothers.
In herremarks, Men Sam An affirmed the significance of Cambodia-Vietnam friendshipmonuments in Cambodian cities and provinces,
Shesaid with the wholehearted support of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers, patrioticCambodians defeated the Pol Pot genocidal regime and revived the country,noting that the inauguration is more meaningful as it takes place at a timewhen the Cambodian Government and people are celebrating the 41st anniversary of the victory (January 7)./.
A Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Monument was inaugurated on November 3 in Cambodia’s northeastern province of Ratanakiri which borders Vietnam’s Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces.
The Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Monument was inaugurated in Sen Monorom city, Mondolkiri province of Cambodia on January 1 on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the victory against the Pol Pot genocidal regime (January 7, 1979-2019).
