APEC 2017: State, Government leaders meet Cambodian PM

Da Nang (VNA) – President Tran DaiQuang reiterated Vietnam’s consistent policy of attaching importance to thefriendship and cooperation with Cambodia during his meeting with Cambodian PMHun Sen in central Da Nang city on November 11.
Their meeting took place on the sidelines of the APEC-ASEAN Informal Dialogueas part of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week.
Host and guest expressed their delight at the fruitful cooperation betweenVietnam and Cambodia across fields, bringing pragmatic interests to people ofthe two countries.
They noted the coordination between the two sides’ relevant agencies andlocalities in organising the 2017 Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Year celebratingthe 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties.

The same day, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc met with the Cambodian leader.
The PMs agreed to continue instructing relevant ministries, agencies andlocalities to organise practical activities marking the Vietnam-CambodiaFriendship Year.
The two sides will also maintain the exchange of high-level delegations andjoin hands to complete land border demarcation and marker planting as soon aspossible, advance bilateral trade to 5 billion USD in 2020 and handle issuesregarding the legal status of the Vietnamese in Cambodia. -VNA
A forum themed “Vietnamese, Lao, Cambodian women foster friendly cooperation to achieve sustainable development goals until 2030” took place in Ho Chi Minh City on September 15.
