Vietnam, Cambodia hold people’s cooperation, friendship meeting
The fourth Vietnamese – Cambodian people’s cooperation and friendship meeting kicked off in Ho Chi Minh City on October 7, part of activities to mark 50 years of bilateral diplomatic ties this year.

HCMCity (VNA) – The fourth Vietnamese – Cambodian people’s cooperationand friendship meeting kicked off in Ho Chi Minh City on October 7, part ofactivities to mark 50 years of bilateral diplomatic ties this year.
Addressing the audience that included the twocountries’ officials, veterans and people, Chairman of the Vietnam-CambodiaFriendship Association Vu Mao highlighted the significance of the diplomaticties establishment five decades ago, which marked a new chapter in theirrelations.
The two countries’ relations have entered a newstage of development, flourishing in all spheres, especially in friendship andcooperation programmes with effective activities of the Vietnam-Cambodia andCambodia-Vietnam friendship associations, he noted.
Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam An, whoalso chairs the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Association, thanked Vietnamesepeople for sending volunteer soldiers to help Cambodia defeat the KhmerRouge genocidal regime and rebuild the country. The Cambodian people neverforget the wholehearted assistance and enormous sacrifice of Vietnam’s expertsand volunteer soldiers, who contributed to Cambodia’s happiness and developmentnowadays.
She asked the two countries’ friendshipassociations to better fulfil their role as a bridge linking Vietnamese andCambodian sectors, localities and people. They should enhance educating youngergenerations on the bilateral solidarity, friendship and neighbourliness.
The fourth Vietnamese – Cambodian people’scooperation and friendship meeting will last through October 12. It featuresarts programmes, a meeting between Vietnamese and Cambodian businesses, andfriendship exchanges in HCM City and nearby Binh Duong and Ba Ria-Vung Tauprovinces.
On October 8, the two friendship associationsheld a conference to share their experience and review the two-yearimplementation of their cooperation agreement inked in 2015.-VNA
