Bahrain to open embassy in Malaysia

Bahrain has decided to set up its embassy in Malaysia to strengthen bilateral relations.

Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Bahrain has decidedto set up its embassy in Malaysia to strengthen bilateral relations.

Bahrain’s King Hamad Isa Al-Khalifa instructed the decision, Foreign MinisterSheikh Khalid Ahmed said during a joint press conference with Malaysia'sDefence Minister Hishammuddin Hussein in Kuala Lumpur on May 3.

The Bahrain government will send a team to Malaysia in the next two months toimplement the decision, he added.

The FM noted that Bahrain will take necessary steps to launch visa exemptionpolicy between the two countries.

Minister Sheikh Khalid Ahmed is as part of King Hamad Isa Al-Khalifa’s four-dayvisit to Malaysia, which started on April 30. 

It is the first visit by a Bahrain leader in 43 years since the twocountries established their diplomatic ties. - VNA
