Phnom Penh (VNA)🗹 – About 82 percent of border demarcation between Cambodia and Vietnam, Laos and Thailand have been completed, according to the New Cambodia daily.

The newspaper quoted deputy head of the Secretariat of Cambodia’s border affairs Kui Pisi as saying the boundary delimitation between Cambodia and the three countries have gained positive outcomes and the involved parties are pressing on the remaining tasks to ensure the early completion of border demarcation.
Cambodia and Vietnam have completed 83.2 percent of the work, planting 312 out of a total 357 markers along their shared borderline. The two nations will continue implementing boundary delimitation to plant the remaining 63 markers in the time ahead. Earlier on December 26, Vietnam and Cambodia inaugurated two markers along the shared borderline, demonstrating their resolve to build a border of peace, friendship, cooperation, and sustainable development.
The two new border markers are No. 30 located between Vietnam’s Le Thanh border gate in Central Highland Gia Lai province and Cambodia’s O Yadav border gate in northeast Rattanakiri province and No. 275 between Vietnam’s Tinh Bien border gate in southern An Giang province and Cambodia ’s Phnom Den border gate in southwest Takeo province. The same day, the two countries inaugurated the road connecting their checkpoints at Le Thanh-O Yadav border gates, which lie on an artery road linking Vietnam’s Central Highlands provinces with Cambodia’s northwestern region. The road is expected to smooth the path for tourism and trade-investment activities between the countries as well as among ASEAN and Greater Mekong sub-region member nations.-VNA
