Cambodia, China ink 37 cooperation agreements across multiple fields

Phnom Penh (VNA) - Cambodia and China have signed 37 cooperation documents, as part of Chinese Party General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping’s state visit to the Southeast Asian country on April 17 and 18.

As reported by Khmer Times, the signing ceremony followed high-level bilateral talks between the visiting top Chinese leader and Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet to deepen the strategic partnership between the two countries.

The agreements cover numerous sectors, including investment, trade, education, finance, information and communications, youth employment, agriculture, healthcare, water resources, tourism, women’s affairs, and more.

The Cambodian English-language newspaper also quoted the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s press release on the outcomes of the visit.

Accordingly, Cambodia and China expressed their determination to ensure the effective implementation of the Diamond Cooperation Framework and accelerate the construction of the “Industry and Technology Corridor” and the “Fish and Rice Corridor”.

🔯 During the Chinese leader’s visit, the two sides discussed a wide range of issues, including political cooperation, development cooperation, trade and investment, cooperation in national defence and security, human security, people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and international cooperation./.
