Cambodia continues sending troops to Lebanon for UN peacekeeping
Cambodia dispatched its sixth batch of 184 peacekeepers to Lebanon on January 2 to replace the fifth group, who completed their one-year United Nations peacekeeping mission.

Phnom Penh (VNA) 💮- Cambodia dispatched its sixth batch of 184 peacekeepers to Lebanon on January 2 to replace the fifth group, who completed their one-year United Nations peacekeeping mission.
The new military engineering group’s duties are clearing landmines, constructing roads, bridges, shelters and defence posts, and providing medical treatment for Lebanese civilians.
At the sending-off ceremony at Phnom Penh International Airport, General Sem Sovanny, Director General of the Cambodian National Centre for Peacekeeping Force, said that the event marked the 10th year since Cambodia sent peacekeepers to war-torn countries.
He added that since 2006, the country has sent 3,372 soldiers, including 108 females, to join UN peacekeeping operations in Sudan, South Sudan, Chad, Central African Republic, Lebanon, Mali, Syria and Cyprus.-VNA
